June 04, 2020

Zoot is proud to again award $2,000 scholarships to the recipients listed below. This is our third year to partner with Georgetown Independent School District Scholarship Fund.

The aforementioned scholarships were named after Jim and Wayne's parents to encouraged them to each pursue their passions growing up on the west side of Houston.

Sally & James Root Sr. - Zoot Pet Hospital Scholarship (Business)

Lindsey CarrLindsey Carr is truly a student athlete. She will attend Texas A&M University and plans to study both Marketing and Management. Lindsey was a leader at Georgetown High School where she excelled in track and field and also served as Student Council Vice-President. She distinguished herself by serving others through numerous activities outside of school. Guided by her faith and her involvement in her church, Lindsey was involved with a wide range of local charitable organizations throughout her high school years. We were struck by Lindsey's compassionate and sincere nature. We are confident she will soar to new heights at Texas A&M.

Dave & Janith Zeh - Zoot Pet Hospital Scholarship (Veterinary Medicine)

Eliza RendonFocus. Eliza Rendon lives and breathes agriculture. She knows exactly what she wants to do for a living. It starts with attending West Texas A&M and pursuing her dream of becoming a large animal veterinarian. This East View High School graduate was elected president of her FFA chapter at the end of her freshman year. Her leadership ushered in a significant increase in membership and involvement in the club while she served three consecutive terms as president. Mature beyond her years, Eliza worked at Zoot during the school year in addition to helping her parents run their small family farm and store. We were impressed by Eliza's passion, calm demeanor and her ability to lead others.
